if you’re an NFL player, every year when Madden NFL Football comes out, you’re not wondering what the new features are, or did they finally get the color of your wristband fixed. The first thing you’re wondering is what the hell is your in-game rating. And sometimes the players, and fans have strong opinions on these ratings. So, we fixed that. Welcome to the Madden Ratings Hotline- a real number you could call into and advocate for your favorite NFL player to have their in-game ratings adjusted. We brought on future NFL Hall of Famer and outspoken wide receiver Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson to not only be the face of the ratings hotline but to actually go on the road for social content as he went to actual NFL games and interacted with current NFL players to talk about (and at times adjust) their Madden rating. To build onto the hotline for the following NFL season, we pitched bringing Drake (a huge Madden player) into the fold to re-create his "Hotline Bling" video for the ratings hotline. While availability was the biggest part of this "crushed dream", I was still happy to get this in front of and present this to our clients at EA.
