About

I was born and raised in a small Southern IL town of 6000, whose claims to fame are the town's name and their big statue of Superman in downtown (which is all of four blocks). Hi, I'm Monty Browne - creative director, baseball dad, gamer nerd, and French Bulldog obsessed. And speaking of my small town, how the heck I got from there to working all over the country, and across the pond in Europe as a creative director is a story in itself.

A mix of old-school work ethic with a new-school approach to solving problems through storytelling across an array of mediums and platforms is my super power. The art director in me has a meticulous eye for detail and visual communication while the writer in me loves the power of words and how they can inspire my art director side. This inner "yin and yang" has blessed me with the opportunity to work on a fun range of brands and with a lot of fun people along the way. I'm a Previous D&AD juror and have been involved in the past with the One Club Next Creative Leaders as well as getting the next wave of creatives ready for what's to come of the industry as a student mentor.

When it comes to diversity, I truly believe diversity leads to better creative, and for myself, this goes beyond talent at the surface level. I grew up with an extremely diverse group of friends in my small hometown, and my relationships with them exposed me to so many different things that influenced my own personal interests, and tastes in things like music, movies, fashion, and hobbies. And this diverse upbringing is what has allowed me to tackle any sort of brief, and understand a wide range of clients and brands while having fun (most of the time) doing it.

ENDEAVOR / 160OVER90 - CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Creative Director in the Los Angeles office overseeing creative direction, ideation and execution of ad campaigns with a focus on entertainment, sports, and GenZ. Managed both creative accounts and direct reports across all US timezones. Developed creative and lead creative direction for SKYY Vodka, Visa, Major League Baseball and Madden NFL with experience in brand partnerships. Pitched and won projects for brands such as Rocket Mortgage, EA and Remarkable.

2K - GLOBAL CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Global Creative Director for the 2K Sports division of 2K Games, leading all creative marketing and creative strategy efforts for NBA 2K, WWE 2K, and PGA Tour 2K game franchises. Managed a current roster of creatives across multiple regions in the development of creative that encompassed TV/broadcast, print, OOH, social media and experiential activations. In addition, built out the live services creative team for 2K's largest franchise, NBA2K.

OMNICOM / JAVELIN - CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Creative Direction and lead for the LA office overseeing and directing creative for AT&T Thanks' sports and entertainment partnerships with the NBA, WNBA and Warner Bros. franchises. Brought the world of AT&T into the Nintendo Switch craze of Animal Crossing during the pandemic and gave away a life sized authentic replica of the Iron Throne for HBO's Game of Thrones series.

RIOT GAMES, EUROPE - CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Relocated from the US to Berlin, Germany to serve as the Creative Director for Riot Games' European division leading all creative marketing efforts for their League of Legends Esports divisoin. Managed a creative staff of full time and freelance talent in the realm of branded content, online marketing, brand partnership creative, social and live events/activations.

VML - ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Spent over four years in VML's global headquarters. Lead and partnered with multidisciplinary teams on Southwest Airlines, NAPA Auto Parts, Cobra Puma Golf, K9 Advantix II, and Sprint. In addition to day-to-day brand work, co-lead internal teams that won the initial Honda Pitch before WPP consolidated some of the Ford business into VML.

CAVALRY - ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
ACD on the Miller Coors roster of flagship brands Coors Light and Coors Banquet. Broadcast TV, Social, and OOH. Worked on Miller Coors' "innovation" product/brandsSmith and Forge Hard Cider.

DDB / TRIBAL DDB - Senior Art Director
Worked in the DDB Dallas office that later eventually was folded into Tribal DDB. Spent over four years working on PEPSICO brands, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and MTN Dew where I got to lead the re-imagination of MTN Dew's Game Fuel program and partnership, taking it from the HALO video game franchise partnerships into new brand partnerships with Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft and Activision's Call of Duty franchises, respectfully.

SQUARE ONE - ART DIRECTOR
Started my advertising agency career in a Dallas shop where I learned to think in both traditional and digital boxes. Was blessed to be exposed to a lot of different people in various roles and touch brands that spanned from fast food to my first tour on a beer brand.
